Submersible Pumps for Cellars, Fountains and Gardens

Domestic solutions for flooded spaces drainage and gardening.

Submersible Pumps for Cellars, Fountains and Gardens · Specification range

A submersible pump for cellars, fountains and gardens is a compact small-format pump designed for domestic utility work — draining a flooded cellar, emptying an ornamental fountain for cleaning, watering a garden from a shallow well, or transferring water between tanks. It differs from industrial drainage pumps in its compact size, its low power consumption, and because it is normally used with clean or lightly contaminated water, not with sewage carrying solids.

Submersible Pumps for Cellars, Fountains and Gardens · Technical Overview

The published range covers three products for distinct scenarios. The Aqua Mini 400 is a compact 0.37 kW (0.5 HP) pump at 230 V with stainless steel body, impeller and shaft, a 1"¼ discharge and a performance of around 9 m³/h maximum flow and 7 m manometric head — ideal for domestic drainage, irrigation from shallow wells, water transfer and filling small circuits. The Baby Battery series, powered by 12 V or 24 V DC, is the choice for power-outage emergencies, remote installations, boats and vehicles — it can run from a car battery or a backup battery bank, without relying on the mains. The PVT series, with an integrated grinder, is designed for off-grid dwellings without sewer connection, where fibrous domestic matter must be cut before pumping the effluent.

The Baby Battery and PVT series are also presented — alongside the full domestic and industrial drainage range — in the main Drainage Pumps category, where they can be compared against vortex, twin-channel and single-channel alternatives. When the installation justifies automation, the AC versions can be commanded by a JOVAL Electrical Control Panel with digital protection against dry run and overload.

Frequently asked questions

  1. What is a small-format submersible pump used for around the home?

For domestic utility tasks — draining a flooded cellar, emptying ornamental fountains for cleaning, transferring water between tanks, irrigating a garden from a shallow well, or feeding small garden circuits. They differ from industrial drainage pumps in their compact size and their use with clean water.

  2. What is the difference between the Aqua Mini 400 and an industrial drainage pump?

The Aqua Mini 400 is a compact 0.37 kW stainless-steel pump built for clean or lightly soiled water up to around 9 m³/h and 7 m head. Industrial drainage pumps are larger, more powerful and fitted with impellers able to pass solids and fibres.

  3. What is a Baby Battery 12/24 V DC pump used for?

For scenarios with no mains power available — power outages, remote installations, boats, vehicles or emergency situations. It can run from a car battery or a backup battery bank, allowing immediate pumping without depending on the grid.

  4. Is the PVT series for the same application as the Aqua Mini?

No. The PVT integrates a grinder and is built for off-grid dwellings without sewer connection — it cuts fibrous matter (sanitary textiles, food-waste fibres) before pumping the effluent. The Aqua Mini 400 is for clean or lightly soiled water, not sewage.

  5. Can these pumps be automated with a control panel?

Yes. The AC models (Aqua Mini 400 and PVT) can be commanded by a JOVAL Electrical Control Panel with digital dry-run and overload protection. The Baby Battery is designed for direct DC operation without external automation.
