Swimming Pool Pumps

Pumping and filtration solutions for domestic and public swimming pools.

Swimming Pool Pumps · Specification range

A swimming pool pump is a self-priming centrifugal pump that continuously recirculates the pool water through the sand filter, keeping it clean and treated. JOVAL distributes the Winner range in Portugal — six models covering everything from the smallest domestic pool to semi-commercial installations.

Swimming Pool Pumps · Technical Overview

The Winner range covers powers from 0.5 to 3 HP (0.37 to 2.2 kW), flows up to 36.3 m³/h and manometric heads up to 21.9 m, with a 2" discharge, Noryl impeller — a glass-reinforced thermoplastic that is chemically inert to chlorinated and saline pool water — and IP 55 protection. Models are available in single-phase 230 V (M suffix) for domestic installations and three-phase 400 V (T suffix) for commercial use. The large-capacity pre-filter body reduces maintenance frequency, with a graphite/ceramic mechanical seal rated for continuous-duty operation.

To equip a complete pool installation, JOVAL manufactures two essential in-house complements for filtering and controlling pool circulation: the D1X HR and D3X HR control panels — dedicated to scheduled filtration with timer, motor-current thermal protection and duty-standby alternation for duplex setups (available in the Electrical Control Panels category); and the EOS TDSOL, a pool pump driven directly by photovoltaic panels, for installers who want to eliminate the energy cost of filtration entirely (in the Solar Pumping range).

The Winner range is held in permanent stock in Portugal and supported directly by JOVAL, with compatible spare parts available in-line for the full range.

Frequently asked questions

  1. How do I size a pool pump by water volume?

The rule is to turn over the full pool volume in 4 to 6 hours. For a 50 m³ domestic pool that means 8 to 13 m³/h — covered by the Winner 75 or Winner 100. Larger pools use models up to the Winner 300 (36 m³/h).

  2. What is the difference between the M and T versions of the Winner pumps?

The M version (230 V single-phase) suits domestic installations without a three-phase supply, with models up to 1.5 HP. The T version (400 V three-phase) covers the full range up to 3 HP and is preferred in commercial installations for better efficiency.

  3. Why does the Winner have a Noryl impeller instead of bronze or stainless steel?

Noryl is a glass-reinforced thermoplastic, chemically inert to chlorinated and saline pool water. It does not corrode or scale like bronze, and maintains its efficiency over many years of continuous operation without replacement.

  4. How many hours a day should a pool pump run?

As a rule, the pump should pass twice the total pool volume through the filter per day — typically 6 to 10 hours in colder months, rising to 10 to 12 hours at the height of summer when water temperature exceeds 28 °C.

  5. Is there a solar option or a dedicated panel to control the pool pump?

Yes to both. JOVAL manufactures the EOS TDSOL, a pool pump powered by photovoltaic panels, and the D1X HR / D3X HR control panels for scheduled pool filtration.
